Luxe Nylon was developed and designed to replicate the qualities of natural silk, but it has superior performance characteristics perfect for both residential and commercial interiors.
This particular yarn quality is both reactive and reflective like silk; it has better fiber memory and more wear resistance. The fiber is made through a unique spinneret created to mimic the size and shape of natural silk with unique visual and tactile appeal. It is also colorfast and can be easily dyed from the lightest white to the darkest shades with no problems.
Luxe Nylon fills the need in the marketplace for a fiber that is easy to maintain and clean, similar to that of wool, but is soft and lustrous with the appeal and look of silk. It is unlike any other fiber that has been introduced in the last 15 years including viscose, bamboo silk, tencel and banana silk.
Many of our favorite architecture and design firm clients have created beautiful custom rugs using the Luxe Nylon fiber for high-profile commercial and hospitality projects in New York City. Crosby Street Studios also worked with Ian Schrager Company/Marriott International used Luxe Nylon for the New York Edition hotel. Deborah Berke Partners used custom Luxe Nylon rugs for the famed residential building at 432 Park Avenue in the public areas. Also, the Deborah Berke Partner’s dining salon in the Brooklyn Heights Association Designer Show House sponsored by Cottage & Garden’s featured Crosby Street Studios’ custom Frequency rug made of Luxe Nylon.
