We are thrilled to introduce the latest collection of custom handwoven rag rugs from the Swedish company Vandra Rugs. Vandra Rugs was recently awarded by House & Garden Magazine at Decorex 2015.

Vandra Rugs, founded in 2005, originated from the classic textile EMTE company that worked with the famed Swedish Design House Svensk Tenn. Vandra Rugs is fully integrated and creates the rugs from beginning to end dying the fabric strips, designing the colors combinations using traditional intricate Swedish hand weaving production techniques. These rugs are made from  Italian wool felt, cotton and linen hand dyed yarns.

The rugs can be customized in a range of colors and materials.

Traditional rag rugs were fashionable in the 1700’s in Sweden and often they were used to adorn walls at festivities as they were expensive. It was not until the 1900’s that rag rugs were decorating the floors of Swedish homes.

The combination of the weave and the materials make the rugs soft to the touch.'
